Amethyst is a motivational speaker, coach, creative entrepreneur, photographer, and community leader. She is the founder of Distorted View Portraits and Resin-It Evil Designs, where she brings ideas to life through art, craftsmanship, and creative problem-solving. She is driven by curiosity and the belief that there is always something new to learn, create, and improve.

Her love for photography began when she received her first film camera at the age of five. Since then, photography has been a lifelong passion and form of storytelling. She focuses on capturing genuine emotion in her work, helping clients preserve meaningful moments and define their personal legacies through imagery.

Alongside her artistic work, Amethyst is deeply committed to mentoring and supporting young people. In 2014, she co-founded a middle school girls’ lacrosse program within the Palos Verdes Peninsula School District, combining her love for the sport with her desire to help others grow. Through coaching, she worked to help young athletes build confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, and personal discipline—skills she hopes will stay with them long after they leave the field.

For over a decade, she has worked with nonprofit organizations throughout the South Bay, supporting youth mentorship and community programs. She is also a founding member of her church’s Youth Leadership Committee, where she helps coordinate events, create new youth and family centric programs, and speaks to middle and high school youth groups, as well as the young adults groups. She has a heart for ministry and often serves as a right hand to the Senior Pastor on all church related matters. For years, she has also been a Special Events Coordinator for the church, where she also developed a passion for Set Design while organizing the Halloween Themed Youth Group Weekends. Some past designs included elaborate maze style game set ups that emulated Stranger Things, A Quiet Place, Zombieland, The Purge, Alien, The Thing, Poltergeist, and Scream to name a few.

Amethyst is especially passionate about helping teens and young adults develop healthy ways to manage stress, work through difficult experiences, and find direction in their lives. She hopes to contribute to the healing and growth of individuals affected by trauma while supporting pathways toward positive futures.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCLA in 2023, with a minor in Disability Studies. During her time at UCLA, she interned at the Disability Rights Legal Center and served as the Undergraduate Student Representative on Disability. Her senior project, “Passing,” was the creation and development of a short film exploring chronic illness and disability within athletics. She also worked with the Disabled Students Union and participated in on campus advocacy efforts aimed at supporting policy changes benefitting disabled students. Her efforts in grant proposals led to the funding and development of new programs that helped these disadvantaged students. She was also a member and program officer for the UCLA Women’s Lacrosse team.

Looking ahead, Amethyst hopes to continue working with at-risk youth as an advocate, mentor, and professional resource.
